How To Pack Using Bubble Wrap

Date: 19-Feb-2019

Bubble Wrap is an essential resource when moving any delicate or fragile items from A to B. While many people assume that there are no clear-cut methods needed when packing your belongings, there are actually specific processes used to ensure the protection of valuable goods during transit. These methods require, amongst other things, the correct use of Bubble Wrap to ensure their successful and efficient transport.

There are three fundamental requirements when packaging your belongings using Bubble Wrap:

  1. Firstly, all delicate and breakable items must be carefully wrapped in Bubble Wrap before being packaged. You can do this by placing your item on the bubble wrap and cutting so there is enough to cover the entire item more than once. As a general rule, you can't be too generous when wrapping your belongings, particularly fragile items. The easiest and most convenient way to wrap these items is by using a bubble wrap dispenser or a bubble wrap stand. One side of your bubble wrap will have an entirely flat surface whilst the other more popular side will contain the small bubbles. The side with the bubbles is the one that should be cushioning the item, with the flat surface facing outward. You can then use a small piece of tape to ensure the item stays wrapped whilst being transported.

  2. Whilst being moved you generally want your items to stay in one spot without moving around too much. The way in which you make certain of this is by ensuring that there is no extra space within the box for your items to move into. Once all items have been packed you can assess if there are any large empty spaces within the box. You can then simply stuff these empty spaces with bubble wrap to keep the contents of the box secure and make sure they don’t knock around.

  3. Lastly, you want to ensure that any leftover bubble wrap you have does not go to waste. There are many alternative uses for bubble wrap such as lining your refrigerator to keep your products safe or even limiting your electricity bill by using leftover bubble wrap to insulate your windows.

Despite what you may think, very few people find themselves using proper and efficient packaging methods when shipping their goods.
